Oh happy happy day!
People are like rivers. They go crooked when they always take the path of least resistance
I stuck a ZX10 rear wheel in my 1200 swingarm and after the stock spacers for the wheel I needed a 38.5mm spacer to fill the rest (I filled this with the caliper hanger). The ZX10 rear wheel in stock setup with spacers and caliper hangers was about 262mm, the ZRX1200 was about 282mm. Again, I haven't compared this to the ZX14, but if you are willing to go through the parts fisches for bearings, spacers and such you can compare and figure out everything but the caliper width. And from that it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
I am very interested but for me to cough up the cash, it would have to be a brainless, mechanically talentless installation that came with LOTS of instructions. Two failed project bikes will do that to a guy.
Anyway, I would need the following:
- Keep the speedo drive, or, replace with another one that will work with the stock speedometer. I have no desire to use a GPS or digital display. I like my old school gauges.
- Use my stock ZRX1100 swingarm (I also like it better than the ZRX1200 version) and have all necessary spacers etc supplied with the kit to mount the rear wheel. Maybe a different wheel set would accomodate this?
- Be able to attach my stock (or similar) bars to the uppper tree instead of clipons. Maybe have the ZX14 uppers drilled and tapped to accept the ZRX handlebar mounting bolts (or include a set). The holes can always be plugged for those who want the clipons.
- Be able to mount the stock (or similar aftermarket fender). I don't think the new style suits the look of the ZRX very well imho. Mounting brackets would need to be fabbed, and included, to do so.
- Include front and rear braided lines.
- Will the ZX14 lower tree steering stops work with the ZRX?
Obviously, this would cost a bit more, but would be worth it to me.

I can help out with the bars in place of clipons. I'm working on clamps to use the clipon mount bolts to attach to the upper triple, and then the top of the clamp will be the stock ZRX handlebar top clamp to tie it together. I'm also hoping to build a damper mount into the right clamp and then it would involve a post being welded to the top of the frame in front of the gas tank. Still looking for dimensions for a ZX10 Ohlin's damper (seem's the easiest/cheapest to source).
For the front fender there are options besides the ZX14 one, but the stock one involves brackets to fit, and doesn't look quite right that way.
The stops have to be adjusted to get full turning (or so I've been told).
Pods & F/Pro3, Kwick +4 Adv & Kool Fan, Tsukigi zorst, ZX11 cams, 16/47 gearing, ZX14 radial brakes, Tealdo damper, Couch risers and fork brace, Works shocks, Custom radiator, HID Lights, Jason bar end mirrors, dickstand & pulsar cover, Poshfaith sprocket cover, Johnykay rack, Teds battery out, Mark444 S/S Kit..
Do you have a weight on the front calipers with the banjo bolt and no hose? Curious how the nissan's compare to the tokiko's that were used on earlier years, or even against the calipers used on the ZX10.
MMMoooouuuuuuhahahahahahahahahahahahaha
ZX-14 bling. I love you Killerkaw. Tom is the man.

Damn! Note to self: Make an effort to get to NC this summer to check out KillerKaw's ZRX in person. Drool all over the bike, even though it's BLUE, then drool some more.......
Very, very nice.

i know 1st hand how good the 14 feels... does this conversion make the rex handle/feel as planted as a 14? Man this is tempting, but what about the 1100 swingarm fitment issue?
i think im goinglol
Whats nice is for this setup, brace the swingarm, and a set of Bitumbos (sp) all for the price of a set of ohlin's. If he did 2011 ZX10 wheels, then you keep a semi stock look and supposedly even lighterLooks good. Interested to see how the ZX14 stock bearings work out. Do you just change out the races?

Press till it pops. make sure you put a large enough impact socket under so as to not damage the triple or the stem
