The Lakes Ride

Sorry it took me so long to post this, but Kathy and I are unable to host the Lakes ride this year.

We're gonna try to do a one day ride in BBQ if we can, but that's still up in the air too.

Bob, I have a former co-work and friend who recently moved outside of Tampa who has a Kawasaki ZX9 looking for rides.

Is that anywhere near you?

Tampa is about an hour and a half south of here; but there are a couple of places in that area that have HUGE bike nights.
SteadyTeddy is over that way too.
there are a few that come up here every weekend to ride around the horse farms, there are a couple of decent routes with turns and everything

Well now I don't feel so bad. I have DJ gigs both Fri and Sat the first two weekends in Nov. Was going to miss it anyway.

But I feel bad for everyone else who would have gone.

Definitely sorry to hear that, but I know the effort you guys put into that is not always sustainable. We'll certainly miss it, but we'll stand by if the BBQ thing turns out.

Hope things are going OK for you guys, and there isn't anything negative causing the cancellation.

We're okay; I've got a new position at the hospital and can't get enough time off to do it right; and I haven't been able to get online as much either.

Anyone riding this way feel free to call or drop by, and Kathy and I still ride every chance we get. Neither one of us could get over to Daytona last weekend either.

Keep your eyes on the website though, once Dave Ditner gets down here we're gonna do a day-long ride for BBQ to a place just over the Florida Georgia line called the Shack by the Tracks.

And we've almost always got couch space for hooligans

Hey, that's damned good news. I'm packing up now and will be leaving here Friday midnight or so and will be there sometime Saturday evening. Recovery is scheduled along with some beer and football Sunday.

Sounds like a good ride if I can make it. Bike is hurt right now. Need to find some time and swap my stock motor back in.

Hey Jerry, I just googled it. Looks like it's kind of northwest of Jacksonville. The town is St George. 5 5 star reviews. I'm drooling already.

I know.. When the time is set, maby bikenut ,Murff & Savedrex will all be able to come..

I rode more miles than that today (240) just to eat breakfast with them...

Glad you and Kathy are doing good...hope you're all healed up from the crash and the bike is too!!
