How often and how long are you above 9500?

Thanks guys for all the input. Depending on how much of a pain it is, I wouldn't mind poping of some springs to drop the pipes to change the oil. I thought I would have to unbolt the exhaust from the front of the motor. That is not a task I would like to do every oil change. I like the bigger looking mufflers. I want it to be around the same size as the stock muffler. The smaller ones seem to small compared to the size of the bike. Thanks guys, Ray

Muzzy on the 1100 ... I don't wear underwear, which makes up for the 2hp deficit when I'm running against someone fitted with the Akro.

I remove the springs, and the two footpeg bolts....leave the can strap in place.
I can remove the can & S pipe in less than two minutes.

Peak (max) horsepower really not any way to pick your exhaust really. As long as one particular model isn't a dog. I mean how long do you plan on riding at that particular rpm?
Looks, cost, sound, loudness, and oil filter access would be much more important to me.

yep, with oil filter access right at the bottom of the list. Unless you have a bergman spin-on deal, it's a PITA anyways, what's two springs and two bolts?

Yes, no need to remove any part of the exhaust to change oil & filter.

probably not but Ti should weigh less also I believe it will turn cool colours as the heat cycels affect it

The best (IMO) tuning shop in the UK (PDQ) has dyno'd hundreds of Rexes of various states of tune, and the Akra always comes out best for spread of torque under the rev curve.

Plus they are lighter, better made, better materials.
    I wouldn't use anything else.

Pal did back to back dyno runs on the same day with an Akra and Muzzys...I seem to remember that the Akra was 4 to 5 bhp up top end and better everywhere else.

There's a thread here somewhere where everyone got upset at him for exposing the Muzzy as a POS.

muzzy ss & muzzy ti full systems have diff diameters - ti is larger, flows better

that would have to be a 3 way test to see which is best

    I suspect it would be

    1-Full Muzzy Ti

    2-akra SS/Ti

    3- Muzzy SS/Ti

Was a bit surprised at how quiet my Akra is in the lower RPMs (even with it bulldogged), but actually came to appreciated that. I don't feel like I'm going to piss off the neighbors everytime I start the thing up for an early morning ride. But above 6k, the thing howls just fine!

It was a SS/Ti Muzzys he tested.

Would be interesting to see a back to back test of the Akra with the full Ti Muzzys
