Just Some Road Pics

really bored today and cant ride so took the car into the foothills and got a few Road shots of
one of our local roads..










I may delete this whole thing , I am not sure how interesting it will be..Some of the shots I simply
took thru the windshield as I was driving ..REALLY getting lazy

I have NO idea what the arrow was pointing to..Up here if you don't know what it is for then you
probably don't belong where it is going




This section, about 10 miles , is pretty rough surface, and will test your suspension for sure if you
try an advanced pace..





Airborne is NOT out of the question..I can't do wheelies but I do get an occasional all wheel jump *
* On hte bike tho NOT the car
I misplaced a shot showing the roller coaster section..

From here on I was too lazy to get out of the car..





The pics you just looked at were taken on the detour..Normally we ride the section behind the signs
and it is very wide...very smooth and LOTTSA turns and down hills and or uphills ..Stunning motorcycle
road to ride but like most DOT stuff up here it is only a few years old so already having problems
with sections slip/sliding away.....




This will give you a bit of a feel for where we are altitude wise..What you see in hte distance ,
behind the thick ridge of trees is the Northern Sacramento Valley..It is hot there...






THis is the sign at Mountain House which is now just a few families but at one time was a small
mountain community..

From all the Real Estate signs I saw , it will soon be a large community again..I think all the flatlanders
are heading for the high ground to wait out the revolution .

Some of you may remember this spot as the area where I took the snow shot of the rex a while back..Well actually the pic was taken a lil further down hte hill..I couldn't exactly stop with ice/snow all over this road

Somewhere along here I just held the camera and started clicking..I was gioing to try to put together a slide show but....hmmmm didn't make it

Nothing major..Friday developed bit of an ear infection and equalibrium is not the best.. Felt good to kinda vedge out and just lay around..

Your browser might resize. I'm using Firefox and it loads them big then resizes.

I'm not familiar with ImageEvent, but maybe it's got a resize option as you upload.

I like the photos though. I had time but brush my teeth while loading. Got that done

sorry Ed...I normally resize them to 1200by 800 approx but I forgot to do it,,Imageevent can do it for me but I like to crop some pics and border some,,Just stuff

Well believe it or not..I took this pic as I stopped by the dam on the way out of town..The road runs alongside the lake behind the dam and I was looking for spots to take pics from and pulled onto the side of the road and this guy just looked over from about 40 yds away and tehn went back to eating...Bout 0830 I had the setting wrong and the color was/is all washed out so I didn't post it earlier..

lovely animals, but they make horrible speed bumps...

with the flora sooo close to the road, I would be constantly thinking about the fauna...

Nice stuff!! numbers 4, 9 and 11thr 16 look like very much like another of our local roads..
Were those just taken recently..? If so you guys have a lot more green than we do at this time of year I have to get the green valley shots from Jan to May generally speaking.. Some fields are irrigated and thus maintain their color but generally by July we are browned out..but I think our bugs are a lot smaller !

Now you have forced me to go on another lil ride ..

Here is a map of my "local riding" Most of my stuff is done east of Oroville . Teh entire area tho, is what I consider to contain very low traffic,high quality motorcycle roads.. Many 40 miles or so in length of carefree riding..
The actual riding quality differs year to year as DOT has a weird sense of humor when it comes to what they do and when they do it ..

I just wish we had a lil more July August Rain ..:grin...We are never satisfied, ya think???

These pictures were some old shots I had on the hard drive from various times of year, mostly spring and summer. It's very green here from spring till fall unless we have a drought. One of the comments that is universal from people visiting from out west is they can't believe how green it is here. We just started a guy at work last night from Fresno and he made the same comment.
