I have an old Penton 250 2-stroke that has been sitting for years. I got it running the other day. I would like to clean off the exhaust oil on different parts of the bike that is hard as a rock. Any suggestions without removing the paint?

You might try brushing on some kerosene and letting it soak. You may have to do that a few times, but it should work.
I had an old WR that was the same way. I used simple green and a grunge brush. For the stuff that was really hard I used a little brake kleen.
If I were to punch you in the face, you would have to fight off the strong urge to thank me.

They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.

WD or any solvent like that would work well then wash the bike really good with straight simple green. Use an asortment of brushes. Old tooth brushes work well in tight spots.

What a list of bikes. I never had a 2 stroke. I put a head and tail light on my Penton and a flappy rubber license plate holder.
Took it out for a 10 mile ride or so today around town on the street. Truely the first time out. What a trip. Tiny power band, no engine braking. Im getting use to it though.
Have you ever ridden a Yam. RZ500 or a Suz. RG500. They must really be something!
