or anyone else with a D&D Full System.

I haven't even cranked the bike since installing the D&D. I'm STILL waiting on the tank and stuff from the painter. However, now is the time to consider jetting.

Mike Burgess did NOT have to re-jet his 1100 with a full D&D and a K&N filter in the stock airbox, and his bike is a rocketship.

Should I just wait and see --- or, do I need to place the order for Ivan's kit now?

Ron, a few thousand 'rex owners can't all be wrong..... put that jet kit in! Cause in the back of your mind, you'll always be wondering if it would run better? Even if it does run "ok" without it. Hehe, it's not like you're spending all your time riding lately ...... sorry, that was a low blow Hope you get the bike back together soon!

Brent has a 2.0 kit for sale and I have the K and N filter for it, good deal for ya, by the way

    Ron,

I bought the same exhaust....it will run ok, but the popping on decel will drive you crazy! Go ahead and jet it. I installed the Ivans and it is awesome! Very simple install if this concerns you at all.......I am anxious to see this custom paint of yours!!

    Oh, how I dread re-jetting.

It is an absolute pain the the ass. I have worked on enough carbs over the years whereby the actual jetting is not the problem. However, gettinq the carbs in and out of the bike (with a stock airbox) is what I dread. I only have so much skin left on these meathooks I call hands.

    I am now Ivanized.

Did exactly as the Master said: removed all pollution stuff, drilled holes, no snorkle, stock air cleaner, 112 mains, 3 turns out on pilot screws and 3-1/2 clip on needle. I even did the crossover vacuum lines like Rick61 suggested.

I haven't started the engine yet. I am still trying to rig an auxillary tank since mine is still being painted.

We'll see! I'll sync the carbs next.

Took her out today, with the Kit installed. I can certainly feel the difference, throttle response is NOW! No more farting on decel either. The power is intoxicating!!

    Ivan's kit - my results

I recently had the new Muzzy stainless full system installed, along with Ivan's kit and the air box mod. My tuner pulled a best on the dyno of 134-hp and 91-lbs'-ft. of torque at the rear wheel - and I am very pleased with the "real world" improvement in the way the bike behaves. No flat spots or surges - and about 20-hp over stock for what amount to pretty minor mods. I'm definitely happy!

Ivan's kit rocks. put in timing advance at the same time and the bike flat out screams. I took it on a few beat runs and can't believe it is the same bike. In first or second the front wheel comes up by itself with little input from the rider. Thanks to all the info on the oa website the install went damn smooth. the duct tape trick is awesome.
Set the clip on the 3rd. position w/ one shim underneath. pilot screws are 3.25 and did the airbox mod as well.

I've got an 04 12 with a yosh slip on and a K+N stock air filter replacement. Should I re jet? She runs and sounds great , but not sure it's any stronger than stock.

To answer your question, if you have stock jetting with that bolt-on muffler and that K&N, it'd run better if it was jetted properly. You are letting a LOT more air in and a LITTLE bit more out (the stock headers are VERY restrictive, and double-walled), and stock jetting was not meant for the set-up you have.

But, some others here will contradict that answer and just say run it as-is, so YMMV and all that.

You bike might feel like it's running right but it's not. I would suggest that you put the stock fither back in. Here's some reference.

Thanks for the input. Figured it was better to respond to an old thread than start a new one on an old subject. So the K+N stock replacement flows that much extra air? What kit would work, stage1? Anybody got a full exhaust for sale, or know of any good deals?

    Re: Ivan's kit sucks

This past weekend I installed Ivans kit and ss ti akrapovic exhaust. All I can say is wow! I did what Ivan told me 4th notch with 3 shims on top and 3 1/2 turns out. Makes it very simple for the average joe blow such as I.

just to clarify -to me he said with muzzy 4-2-1 @ 4-5k there is an exh resonance / tick with his kit and a muzzy ti full system and his pod kit is no good together with full muzzy ti

The kit will make the bike a little rich with a stock muffler (although you could probably lower the needles 1/2 a step),

The kit will work with any slip-on or any full system, although a full system with a longer than 6 in. secondary......
(the section of the headpipe that is two pipes on a 4-2-1 pipe) will be more prone to cause some type of flat spot in the 3-4000 rpm range.

Well that SUCKS... I have a muzzy ti.... dual uni pods and was thinking this would be a great set up as Ivans has been said to be a touch rich... the unis would flow a little more and work outbetter in my mind ...but it's a little cloudy in there sometimes...
