Has nothing to do with political correctness. This Board has lived through two known suicides. There are also people on this Board who have attempted and failed, had family members attempt and fail, and they don't need a sick reminder of it on the Board. The picture in question was used in an offhand way saying a person should commit the act. How long until the gif is used for the same thing?

There are some images that are never amusing and shouldn't be used. That is one of them.

Well, in that case, since it's statistically doubtless that there are a few non-hetero folks among us here as well... nevermind some people's family members... and since the gif is no doubt offensive... where are we going to draw the line?

It wouldn't me, and it didn't. I have other friends not on this board that have commited suicide, it's not a taboo subject for me. Not everyone is the same or sees things the same way. Nobody here gets to tell anyone how they should feel about something.

But as soon as someone pointed out that it was really upsetting, the problem was solved.

I didn't want to stir drama. I just pointed out how I felt about it. I have thick skin, but that one gave me the creeps.

Any reference to suicide is tasteless, which was obvious to whomever removed the photo shop image from a thread yesterday showing a young woman committing the same act the smilie does.

If it wasn't appropriate for a thread in STB then its not appropriate anywhere on the Board.
