    SWEET! Ordered Holeshot header!

Can't say enough how good Dale Walker is to deal with. Got a header system, DB Killer for the Holeshot slip-on that came on my bike and Fender Extender on the way for my new to me 1200.

Looking forward to all the fun!

    Re: SWEET! Ordered Holeshot header!

Well, yeah, once I get the header and get it on the bike I can put up some pics.

I'd call or email Dale at Holeshot and ask him about the DB killer question. If you've seen it on his website, it has a great look to it. I think it would all depend on whether the outlet hole is the same diameter, depth, etc. For his exhaust cans, you have to know the thickness of the "bead" on the tip to get the right DB killer ordered, as he has/had two different sizes at one time or the other.

He says he hasn't officially measured a Rex on the dyno with the DB Killer, but on a Bandit it cost 1-2 hp and a ft/lb or so of torque, and on a V Strom 1000 it actually added a couple hp and another ft/lb of torque. So, not much difference that any of us could tell in the seat of the pants if anything.

He is moving as we speak, and officially his website says he's open until Nov. 20th, then re-opening Jan 11th.

Re: DB Killer is a winner.

I put the DB Killer on my '01 and it is a keeper! I didn't get a picture, but go to the Holeshot website and it looks just like mine... What I notice and won't trade for anything is that the drone at highway/interstate cruise is gone. I wear earplugs, and the DB Killer lowered the sound output to where I hear it when I roll on the throttle, but at steady state cruise the exhaust noise to me is a non-starter now. Took the edge off at idle as well, which to me sounds more mellow (deeper?) and not so raspy.

It was simple to install and I recommend it to anyone with a Holeshot exhaust can. I'd call Dale when he opens back up to see if there is some measurement that you can use to determine if it could work on a non-holeshot can.

    Re: SWEET! Ordered Holeshot header!

Hey guys, quick question and please forgive my ignorance here. My bike came with a Holeshot exhaust, but the previous owner didn't have it installed as he just had a chrome tip. (see pic) He gave me the original stock Kawasaki headers and exhaust with it. My question is this: how can I tell if the headers on my bike now are Holeshot, and meant to be used with the Holeshot exhaust that I got with the bike? Thanks for any help with this, as I would like to install the exhaust but only if I know it's meant to work with the current headers.

If you can post a pic of the headers where i can see the collector I might be able to help identify them as Holeshot or not.

    Re: SWEET! Ordered Holeshot header!

Does the header work with any muffler can. Or does it HAVE to be a holeshot can? ie. Can I just run a holeshot system with my Yoshi can?

Yes, you can order a holeshot header and midpipe that will work with your Yoshi bolt on . - http://www.holeshot.com/zrx/zrx_headerup.html

You will like the Holeshot pipes... Jet the bike for the intake you have, and driveability/rideability will be as good as you can get. I think the Holeshot set up gets you as broad a spread of power as any combo, and doesn't leave anything on the table to any other set ups either.
