    What exactly is Kawasaki's problem?

    This is frustrating as heck!

Today's Motorcycledaily.com article on the Tokyo Motor Show. Mentions Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, even Harley! Not a peep about Kawasaki.

THIS is almost EXACTLY what I envision my 2000 ProjZRX looking like when done. 'cept for the color and the name badge!

I'd send a downpayment in TODAY for a new ZRX1200. I'd find the financing somewhere and pay in full TODAY for a new ZRX1400. Could you imagine a ZRX1400??

Other manufacturers are coming out with some really pretty and unique street fighter nakeds. Heck -Ducati's kicking butt w/ their line up!

I just, plain, don't get it.

Well, Momma Kaw, if you're here, and you hear, my '99 ZRX w/ 38k is going to get a floor up going thru this winter. Planning on another 10 years of it being my #1 bike.

    Well, yeah... there is that.

Sent this email to Momma Kawi this morning, spelling mistakes, bad grammer and all. Eveyone needs a windmill to tilt at.

Dear Kawasaki. I was reading www,motorcycledaily.com's article today on the Tokyo Motor Show I noticed no mention of Kawasaki.

What is Kawasaki's problem? I am an admitted ZRX nut job. I love my '99 ZRX1100 and am planning a ground up maintenance party this winter for it. We also have a '02 ZRX1200 and my current project bike is a '00 ZRX1100 that had an unfortunate meeting with a ditch. Having this blank canvass to work on I can have all sorts of fun doing mods that I would never dream of doing to my un-dropped '99. Know what I have been envisioning it will look like? The red Honda CB1100 Cafe in this article. 'cept for the color and the name badge, of course. I'm documenting the ProjZRX here: http://www.kawsonthefarm.com/projzrx/projzrx.htm

I just don't get it. Almost ALL the manufacturers are producing naked bikes in the ZRX mold. Except Kawi. I know, I know, that's not true. Momma Kawi does have a brand new '09 ZRX1200. For sale in Japan only. Can't you send a few over here? What if you shoe horned a 1400 engine in one? A ZRX1400!! Could you imagine that!!! Oh dear. Must go take a cold shower now.

Kawasaki - I would send in a deposit today for a brand new '09 or '10 ZRX1200. I would beg, borrow and/or steal and pay you in full TODAY to be put on a waiting list for a ZRX1400.

How's this? I own the domain name www.zrx1400.com. I'll GIVE it to you, no strings attached, if you make (ans sell in USA) a ZRX1400!

    Thanks for listening,

JBoz, ZRXOA member #460, Head nut job of Kaws on the Farm North East ZRX motorcycle rally

No one will dispute it's fastness, just it's ugliness.

Have you seen any modded B-Kings?
They can be made pretty pretty, pretty easily.

I have seen many modded ones and most all keep the tail and the fairing and both of those items, to me, need to go. JMHO. They look better, like make-up does on a crack whore.

HP yes, but, ugly enough to scare dark out of a cave. That bike didn't just need a tweak here and there. Everything from the exhaust to the tank to the headlight/gauges/cowl was butt ugly.

How's it go? Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes to the bone? Not too excited about the 2009 ZRX1200 (DAEG?) funny fairing, but better than nothing.

Looks nice, BUT, get a used '02 cheap, do the front and rear suspension, Muzzy 1224 kit with pipe and pods, you'd probably have a faster better bike...and a whole lot cheaper.....

The B king is huge. There is so much crap surrounding the engine it is a waste. saw one 2 weeks ago at a dealer picking up my KLR. Needed a winter ride...

There is a GS1300 that came out a few years ago but it was euro only. It was actually pretty nice and got great reviews. But kawi guy for life so later zukes. We smoke them anyways...

I know what the problem is with Mama Kaw: CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, and won't commit to any model that they have any doubts about. They pull out of Moto GP when the economy is at the bottom. They are cheap and conservative. It would serve them right if every other manufacturer puts out a naked big bore successfully imitating the ZRX. If Kawasaki does not step up then they deserve to lose out. BTW, I have never owned anything but Kawasakis. They keep up their cheap ass fearful ways and I will be forced to choose another bike company since they will have put themselves out of business.

BTW, great letter John! I hope Kawasaki pays attention AND does something positive about it. It would be great to see a ZRX 1400.

C'mon Forrest, don't hold back, tell us what you REALLY think!!!

Hi Bud! How's it goin? Gonna be at Ytrap next May? We will.

Funny - My ZRX is my 1st and ONLY Kaw to date! Never had anything but Honda (street bikes) and an old Suzuki MX bike before the Rex. Might be my only one too if Honda & Suzuki keep building newer ZRX's.

Can I say I'm disappointed not only in kawasaki's line up but also the price of the current models?

I always enjoyed having a kawasaki of some sort over the years and paying a 1/2 of what you would for a harley but now its just stupid, I was all excited when the new voyager came out until i saw the price tag, I could get an FLH cheaper than it not that I would but I mean cmon...

Goin good. Should be able to make it if I can convince some lifelong buddies to make the trip. We are planning a weeklong road trip at about the same time. They need to see a proper rally chock full o' hooligans
