I like it!
Brings back memories, too.
In the mid 70s, I worked at the local dealer. Today they are also have Suzuki and BMW, but back then you were (mildly) frowned upon if you rode anything but a Kawasaki.
One of my many jobs was to get clean up all the trades. I liked that part of the job, because I was also allowed to take them home evenings and weekends. Used Kawasaki triples sold fast, so I never “had” them for more than a day or so.
Late in the summer, we got a nice GT-550, and I adopted this one for a time period that exceeded the dealer’s tolerance level – especially when I rode it on an organized group ride. Joe (the boss) took me aside and said, “Mike, this doesn’t look good. We’re a Kawasaki shop and there you are, riding a Suzuki all the time.”
I understood. I put the bike back in place among the rest of the used machines and switched back to my 400 Triple. Although I had several bikes at the time, all my money was in dirt bikes (which weren’t all Kawasaki either).
Bikes that I still have:
2006 KLR-650 <~~~ in California, I haven't seen it for over a year. My wife says it's still there
2000 KL-250 Super Sherpa
< big time gap >
1978 Montesa Cota 348
1976 Suzuki GT-750
(all of the above bikes are in running condition)
1975 Suzuki GT-750 (my original, now a parts bike)
1974 Suzuki RV-125
1974 Kawasaki 175 F7
