    zrx colors and years

A while ago i stumbled across a website that showed a picture of the different colors of the different zrx's and the year they came out and country of production. I can't seem to find this site to save my life. does anybody know of one like this?

Was looking at 2004 ZRX1200 for sale and could not wrap my brain around the black like a 2000 1100. Looked everywhere and unless it was foreign production it must be a clone. This post kind of confirms it. Nice looking bike but I am going to stay away from it.

The bodywork is interchangeable between all years of the ZRX so what you have found is someone that swapped 2000 1100 bodywork onto a 2004 1200.

Makes sense. Not a bad looking bike but may be why he is not getting good offers on bike. Would look kind of neat with my black 1100 but think I will pass.

A quick way to tell which engine is in a ZRX frame, is to look at the cylinder side. Does it bulge to a centerline or wrap around the bolts?

It is for sure a 1200 engine but looks just like 2000 black. Good paint body work or changed some parts out. Looks to of been painted. On Ebay till auction ends today. Might be a great bike but OA members would most likely not purchase. Too many unknowns for me. I tried to get in touch with previous owner but without a name from present one and telling me to call the police dept and ask for the Sargent that used to own the bike two years ago seems a little wrong. I have learned a lot from OA members and still picking up good info. Thanks All!

The 1100 is included in that chart (1999~2000)....all the rest (2001> ...) are 1200cc

Yep. Barney Fife did exactly that with his 2004 silver ZRX.

Sounds like you stumbled onto Kenny’s (Barney Fife) bike that he sold a few years ago. He’s a retired Sgt. with the Houston police department.

His comments on that bike are 3 years old, but I agree, it does sound like Kenny's old bike.
