ZX11D CDI Plug and Play Harness - Round #2 - Interest

    All,

I have just finished building and delivering 14 harnesses that allow the Plug & Play installation of the 1994+ ZX11D (PN 21119-1386) ignition box. This box has a 11,500 RPM limit and the CORRECT connector for these adapter harnesses. This harness will fit the 1999-2000 ZRX1100 and 2001-2005 ZRX1200 49-state models. I can make a harness for the ZRX1200 California model, but it uses a 16 pin and 8 pin connectors instead of the traditional 6 + 8. Please let me know if you need a California model.

21119-1303 for 91-93 ZX11C - DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME CONNECTOR - DO NOT USE FOR THIS ADAPTER HARNESS

Price is $50 USD shipped CONUS. Add $25 (USPS Increase) for shipping to Canada. Australia and Canada is $35.

Harnesses will ship in a USPS Priority Flat Rate box and a tracking number will be provided. All harnesses are sealed, crimped with the appropriate tool, and then soldered for additional robustness. All use factory connectors and cavity plugs. Includes a built in diode pack for the tachometer that is permanently sealed. All you need to do is order a Kwick Advancer for the ZX11D from Pete in the advance of your choice. I take a lot of pride in my "creations" and if you have any problem with your harness, I will make it right. All harnesses are tested on my bike, except the Cali models. Those are double checked and point to point tested with a scope meter.

    Here are some threads:

    http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthre...tion-connector

    http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthre...highlight=zx11

With the holiday coming up, thought I would throw this out here for people to sign up if they would like a harness. Reply to the thread below with how many you want and for what bike. I would collect all the names at the beginning of January and procure the connectors, etc.... then commit to delivery dates once all the correct parts are in hand. These harnesses take about 2 hours each to build, so there is significant time. I just thought I would offer this service to those who may want help. If not, I am also happy to simply offer advice to those who want to build their own.

    I'm in 2000 zrx1100. Thanks naked fun.
2000 ZRX1100 - Mad Max black 1109 with full kerker exhaust with custom baffle, pod filters, ZX Cams, ZX11 ECU +2 advancer, and 6spd trans and CVK40's with a prototype jet kit. Ridden daily and rarely clean.
1997 KDX 200 - Tons of blingy parts on a crap bike. Imagine a Roadkill dirtbike...

2006 XC90 V8 AWD - A bit of this, a bit of that and a whole ton of dog hair.

Ahhh, just sell it. My diode pack is more compact, which keeps the harness as short as possible to keep things tidy. The ZX11D box has a harness as well, so it gets a bit long.

Re: ZX11D CDI Plug and Play Harness - Round #2 - Interest

This may not be the place to ask, apologies in advance. With a +4 rotor and KTRIC unplugged, I have heard it is darn near the same timing curve as the ZX11 box without an advancer. Is that accurate?

If that is the case, is then the main advantage the 1,000 rpm increase when comparing the two options above?

The advantage for me was being able to run a +4 ZX-11D advancer with CDI.

Did you do the CDI first, then add the +4 rotor so you had some comparison?

No, you have to use a ZX-11 rotor with the CDI, so I just bought the +4.

I know you need a ZX11 rotor, thought you may have had a std ZX11 rotor initially then went to the +4 ZX11 rotor.

Did you run the stock CDI with a +4 rotor before going to the ZX11 CDI and +4 ZX11 rotor?

I don't want clog up this thread with discussion, so I'll bow out and find an advancer thread.

Edit: Here is a good advancer thread that is the best I could find, and my pea-brain forgot about it. The same kind of info/comparison I was asking AV80R about.

I'll huckleberry one. Maybe it will solve the tach issue I'm having. I keep blowing tachs. I can put one in and it lasts about 2 weeks. I do have zx9 gauges. I never had an issue with the stockers. I'm going to install a new wiring harness (main harness), cdi, and tach.

You looking for a pic of my harness installed? Also it appears that your harness is fully soldered into your bike, so not sure my harness would be helpful?
