If you don't do the airbox mod the recommended jetting from Ivan will not be correct.

Without the airbox mod you will not be taking full advantage of the power improvements made possible with the Akra.

Simple mod that makes things run right!

I have a Full Akra exhaust w/ Ivan's Jet Kit at least this is what the previous owner told me. Bike is a beast the way it is and I haven't felt the need to change a thing. But I am now very intrigued regarding the airbox mod. I will be searching the threads and will post any changes I make..........

Airbox mods = removal of snorkel, and drilling 12 holes. Early instructions were to drill holes in the airbox lid, later changed to drilling holes in the box housing.

Thought I was losing it when I really couldn't find much here on the mod.

I did find something off Ivan's site but I really need to call him and get a copy. Actually you could fudge it from the what you can make out on the link I suspect

I dont know if this topic is still open. I ran the same setup. Do the airbox mod. It all comes together and the bike will pull cleanly from 500rpm.

If you did not do the airbox yet I have one predrilled for sale - cheap. My Rex is for sale and the spare parts are on the block.
