So the old Rocker gets out his bike
to make a ton before he takes his leave.
Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be.
And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take
and he hits the trunk road doing around 120
with no room left to brake.
Here's mine. I think it was a 1967 250 Green Streak. Picture was taken in 1972 at Cannon AFB, New Mexico. No kick stand so I always had to lean it on something. I didn't know it at the time but it was a real piece of crap.![]()

My first Kaw was a 78 650 SR, it was a beautiful metalic red. A fun bike and quick.
I had a triple before that but it was a 74 Suzuki GT380 Ram Air!! It was also quick, I remember eating up a 550 Honda 4cyl. with it.
Every thousand miles or so it needed new NGKs.

not exactly old school, but my first Kaw was a 95 Vulcan 800. I loved that bike; made me wonder why I hadn't owned a Kaw before that one![]()
1986 KX 80Thing was

I am the voice of Unreasonbl.
My dad bought a KZ650. It was the fiirst motorcycle I ever rode. My brother and I bought rode it. We both wrecked on it. That was...... a long time ago.
My oldest son started off with a series of smaller bikes but his first Kawi was a Z1. Brought it home in the back of the truck. He told me to go look at it. But it wasn't there. He said it was. So I looked in the bed - it was all in boxes![]()

My first Kawasaki was a 1978 KZ200 that my father bought me for my 17th birthday in 1986. It was mint and had 2800 miles on it when I got it. I rode that thing for years and years even after I had other bikes. I put 18,000 miles on it. I've never owned a slower motorcycle but I've also never had as much fun on any of the faster ones as I did on the KZ200.
An 82 KZ750E3. Best bike I ever had until a garbage truck rolled over it in 84.
1980 KX 80. I still remember the first time I hit the powerband and flipped it over..![]()
'69 H1 then a '72H2. Sold the 500-Couldn't afford it back then because I had to come up with the $1350 that it cost to buy the H2 in '73, new in the crate,
as a "hold over" from the previous year.Wish I still had the H1. Still got have the H2.

Greetings from Down Under, the land of 365 riding days!
A Maroon 1974 S3 400 Triple that my brother bought new in October of 1974.
He would up in the Hospital from pneumonia and I was asked
to brake the bike in for him.
About three months later he sold it to me............I was 17
and the owner of a rip roaring snarling mini Beast.

1975 Z-1 900 drag raced it for a while but sold it when I needed $. Then moved down to a H1 500. Ended up running prettly good (10.70's). Sold it and moved up to an H-2 in a bushel basket. It ended up running 9.20's. Sold it to build a house.
15 years later came the REX. What a difference a few years made in bike technology.
