First bike I owned was a '74 Kawasaki h2b, totally stock except for the 2" z-bars. Sold it to buy the '77 KZ1000, which I still have today.
Bought another h2b in 2005. Couldn't get that sound outta my head!![]()

1977 KZ650C1, silver....still the prettiest bike I've ever owned. Did a lot of engine work (for it's day) and it ran real nice!
James Madison:
If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands;they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, everything, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress…. Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America.
I will never forget.
First Kawasaki for me was this 1978 KZ1000 that I bought new 34 years ago this month........still got it too.

Like me, the bike is starting to show it's age......
I'm in a slow (very slow) process of giving it a much needed facelift, it looks better in this picture from ten feet than in person. But, the parts are there that I've installed over the years.
What's funny is that when I bought the Dymags my buddies where like "wow, 3.5" rear wheel, that's huge" today that's the front wheel on most sportbikes.
I had Cal-Fab make an arm and added Street Stroker shocks, these were the ticket 30 years ago!
I'll get her going one day, she deserves it.

eddy you're the first person I've run across who had a Denco pipe on his KZ650 besides myself. You will recognize this one . Exited the bike on the left. Kerker exited on the right. I ran 29 smoothbores. Would give the Z1 guys fits to 100 mph.
A friend of mine getting ready to run it. He weighted about 50 pounds less than me fully suited.
First Kawasaki was a 1970 Red H1 I bought new from the dealer in Anaheim with my Army money. Like it no pictures survived.
Second Kawasaki 1972 H1B back when I had hair.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes; it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
1981-82 KZD 1100 Specter. I put 500 miles on it for the first service check and then rode it from Atlanta Ga. to Camp Pendelton Ca. In 1984 I rode from Ca. to Houston Tx. (school) and in 1986 I rode it from Tx. back to Ga. It was my only form of transportation for over 5 years untill a car pulled out in front of me and wiped out the frontend. It was a damn good bike, cranked every time I put the key in it and never broke (ever). It was quick, even with a shaft drive and it had good top end. I have always regreted selling the bike.
'72 750 H2, nothing has ever had as much snap!
Officer: "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
Rex: "Because I let you?"
1977 Green KZ 650 in 1980 with 1300 miles on it. I changed the color to burgundy metallic. I had put a yosh road race header on it and rejetted the carbs. Got it to run a best of 12.81 and I believe 113 in the 1/4. I road raced it twice in Henderson, Tx around 1981-82. Wish I had some pictures. My buddy Joey Mills talked me into it. I raced in the 750 modified and open gp classes. Doug Polen won them both. But I know I looked good, burgundy bike, black simpson helmet, black brooks riding jacket, yellow bates pants that were too short for me. The pant leg came up to the top of my cowboy boots that I had worn, when I sat on the bike. Guess I looked somewhat like a bumble bee. Joey Mills ran a KZ 750 in those races. He went on to place 4th in the battle of the twins at Daytona in 83. Traded that bike for a 74 z1 900.

My first Kawi was a stripped enduro made off road only A 1974 KS125 rotary valve. Next was A 1977 KZ 650 that was a fun bike. I had a little suzuki in between those, but thats not what this thread asked.
69, (I think), Mach III 500 triple; lethal but fun.
My first Kaw (and first streetbike) was/is a '78 Kz1000. I bought it when I was 15 with help from my dad. I paid half of the $600. It's been through several incarnations over the last 16 years.
And how it sits now...
Later, Doug
1973 F7 175 still have it. Mine is in need of repair but this is what I wish It looked like.

My first bike was a 76 KZ900, my parents would never let us have a motorcycle. So the first thing I bought when I got out of boot camp was a KZ900. Put yoshimura pistons in it and a kerker on it and thought I was Bad.
1974 Z1 900 4 into1 Kerker..Rollin Thunder...only bike I had before that was a Honda XL100..once I opened that z up I was hooked.
