    Other than 38 pilots...

I finally decided to put on a full system (TiForce) and the Holeshot jet kit for pods.

From the reading I have done, I will need to get some 38 pilots, and that should be it.

Other than a battery out kit, am I forgetting anything?

You have some plumbing to take off (hoses and such) and you'll need to block off the plates on top and forward on the valve cover. Take the tank off and follow the hoses and you'll see it.

    Simple stuff already done.
Block off plates, all other emissions removed, Teds advancer fitted.

I will be removing Ivans standard kit and modified airbox.

Since I will be going with a full exhaust, I will want to play with the jetting. And to be honest, Pods look cool to me.

    So...

    Pod Kit coming from Holeshot

    Pilots from Ron Ayers

Exhaust places I am waiting on prices from.....Closed For Veterans Day.

Seems like more businesses than ever were closed in honor of veterans. Nice to see this.
Funny thing is, when I was in we never got this day off.

Hopefully by end of day tomorrow exhaust will be ordered, and the waiting will begin.

I am running the Holeshot jetkit and pods....pilots remain stock.

Where did you find that info at?

Talk to Dale before you actually do the change to the 38 pilots.

In reading through old posts, I saw a number of references to increasing the pilot jet size when running pods.

It seem to remember that this was done to take care of a lean condition in the 3000-4000 rpm range.

Some other posts claimed that if the pilots needed more than 3 turns, the pilot jet size should be increased.

I have been spending a lot of time in hotels, and some of these posts did date back to the '01-'02 timeframe.

If anyone has run this set-up (TiForce/Holeshot/Elev.1000 ft), would you mind sharing your carb settings? The more data I have to start with, the better.

Getting the pipe ordered was actually the hard part. Orient Express is sold out right now, and the place they recommended did not have any either.

Found it at Pipe City. Thanks to Perko for mentioning them in one of his previous posts.

Now comes the hard part, waiting for everything to arrive.

    heya Pat,
I agree with talking to Dale first on increased pilots using the Holeshot jet kit for pods.
I too have the Holeshot jet kit and using the stock pilots.
Holeshot full meg exhaust, Teds advancer, iridium spark plugs and the motor screams to redline. Daily driveability is as well.
Once I got the jet kit dialed in I synchroed the carbs which smoothed it all to a purr.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I will definitely talk to Dale before I install the new Pods/Jets.

    But . . . It's going to be a little while.

I was moving some steel plates at work on Sunday when my elbow made a noise like someone pissed off Snap, Crackle and Pop.

Xray's look okay, but unknown at this time if it is a severe strain or tendon/ligament damage.

Hopefully I will be back in action by the time Thanksgiving is over.

38 pilots are too rich for the 1200. The 1100 guys run 38's, NOT the 1200!

That must be where I saw all the mentions for the 38 pilots. I don't normally pay attention to which model the thread is about, because so many mods are the same for both.

Start with the base settings and you will be close. Get it on a dyno to fine tune it.
