Wow honing a shim is kind of anal, that's why the factory gives an acceptable range

Get a rubber ball, or a "stress ball" if you are really weak, and use it untill you get fingers working some. Some suggest boobies will also work when the cast is first removed!
Remember that the squeeze thingy is supposed to be curled between the compression and the release...
Wrist out straight-compress, bend wrist-release, keep wrist bent-compress, straighten wrist-release, keep wrist straight-compress, bend wrist-release, etc. don't forget to work the good hand/wrist as well

I know the ph therapy is $$ and they really stress the movement past the comfort level to regain flexibility. Maybe go to a couple and figure out best techniques. I know time is important to regaining full use.

I think you are on the list now.

Here is the line-up, correct me if I'm wrong:

    Tenoca (has the kit now)
    HarleyJohn
    BlackDog

HarleyJohn, if you have not already, send a PM to Tenoca and find out where he stands with the kit.

Well I reverse phoned Tenoca's address, and the number that came up is no longer in service.

    Maybe he'll check his PMs.

I checked with my tuner who put in a complete valve cover gasket set last winter. He checked my valve clearances then and I have only put about 8,000 miles on since. I can be taken off the list. Thanks for thinking of me Dave. AND, good luck to everyone on tracking down the kit.

I'm out. Got the valves done with someone else's kit. See the above amended list.

For the record I had 22,526 miles on the bike since the last valve adjust. None of the valve's clearances were out of spec, and I only swapped seven shims, to bring the clearance back to the "high end" of the spec.

Darn it. I was hoping you would be "down" at least a day or so. How am I gonna EVER catch up with you on mileage.
My valves seem to have taken a set after 25/30 thousand miles. Very little change since....at least it's been linear.

So you're saying that their is a method to your madness.

Thanks again, and it was certainly worth it to get Greg's shims done. As you know he rides one of those slower gray ZRXes and needs all the help he can get.

Yep, for a "little" while last year, he was behind me and said" I think your brake light is sticking". Little did he know, I was just holding on in fear, tryin' to keep up with Keith and Wayne (MadIndian and GMLimited)

Well if I had said it was silver, people would of mistook it for "gay" instead of gray.
