    City Light Parts List

I just came across the empty parts bags while cleaning out my old REX parts after selling her. I found these part numbers I used to install the city light and thought others may find it useful.

    (1) 23016-1134 LAMP-ASSY, POSI
    (2) 92027-1923 COLLAR, 5.6X8X11
    (2) 92075-1912 DAMPER
    (2) 25009-004 WASHER, 5.2X16X16X1
    (2) 130J0520 BOLT-FLANGED

These parts don't appear on every REX parts list but they are available. I think I paid around $60 for everything.......

Any Kawi dealer can order them....... I wired it into the parking lights under the fairing. It was fairly easy to do......

    Technically.....

THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT.
The City light is designed to stay on with your front running lights, BUT also when you lock your steering column and turn the key all the way to the right & remove the key, The tail light & CITY LIGHT should stay on. If you wire it to the running lights, It won't work correctly.

The city light should be wired to the ignition switch PARK tab. ( on USA models) It's the red wire coming out of the bottom of your ignition switch.

but , if your happy with it that way.......

Does the city light just give you more visibility to oncoming traffic or does it put useful light on the road?

    Re: City Light Parts List

The city light does nothing but give you bragging rights to have something few people have in the states, and bragging rights to being 70 dollars poorer.

It is supposed to be a front marker light for when you are parked. If they can't see the orange lights on the stalks, or the bike itself, chances are the #194 bulb inside the lens isn't going to do much to save your baby.

(and yes I am 70 dollars poorer)

    Re: City Light Parts List

Ok, just got my City Light, nuts and bolts. Can't help but notice the light is a female connector, I haven't pull down the fairing yet, but is there a male connector hanging in there somewhere waiting to be connected???? Or do I have to get another part?

Last, I know this should be connected as the running lights "ignition switch". To come on with the tail light, but has anyone connected any other way.

Good question. It's been awhile, but I remember it was also on the zx7 and 9. Here's one without the harness, described as day light or side light. http://cgi.ebay.com/kawasaki-zx-9-r-...item5d2893a137
Make sure your search is set to worldwide. If you don't get the bulb, be careful what you put in there. Its only meant to be a marker light. I used one that was too bright and it started to melt the lens!
