Poll: Re: Best street helmet manufacturer poll

I've had Bell (back in the day), HJC, Arai and now a Shoei RF1200, which I think is my fav for protection, fit and quiet. Also, shield is quite convenient to change compared to the prior Arai.

Thanks guys! I'll check them each out.

I remember once in Junior High a kid brought mercury to school and was playing with it. Wonder what he's doing now . . . .

    Re: Ford v Ferrari

My wife and I both enjoyed the movie. Actors did a great job. Cars are a big part of the movie.

Spoiler Alert: Ford wins Le Mans.

  9. Re: NorCal PG & E bracing for fire season with extreme measure?

We already have laws in place that require the use of a certain percentage of "renewable" energy sources--wind and solar--to generate our electrical needs and the percentage goes up every few years. ...
  10. Re: Anyone ride a FZ-09? (Considering one for a new daily.)

I had a 2015 FJ-09. Bought it as an intended long distance bike. However, the handlebar buzzed, especially the right hand. It'd put my right hand to sleep in 30-45 minutes. Tried buckshot in the...
  11. Re: 3 motorcyclists shot on 110 freeway in Carson

Look like Harley touring bikes. What are they doing on that freeway at 1:30 am? Not a good area at any time but at night?

This is why I don't go out after 10 pm. Nothing good happens after...

  13. Re: NorCal PG & E bracing for fire season with extreme measure?

Yeah, insurance companies are very risk averse but they sure like the premiums!

Tough to get a cancellation notice because the market for property insurance in rural areas of CA has really...
  14. Re: NorCal PG & E bracing for fire season with extreme measure?

They actually do some small controlled burns quite often in So Cal. I think those are regulated by the SCAQMD due to impacts on air quality.

There have been proposals to break up California. ...
  15. Re: NorCal PG & E bracing for fire season with extreme measure?

No, they don't. But not everyone can live at the beach or in super high density housing in downtown San Fran or LA. The state has a real housing shortage crisis, which is good if you own a home...

  17. Re: Cal fires aftermath ; Fire insurance rates

A lot of people in the mountains or rural areas are having a hard time. Cancellations or a limited market. Raised rates.

Insurance companies are not in business to lose money.

Actually, thank a jury. Lawyers only present cases, courts and juries decide them. An old judge I knew called juries "The twelve amateurs." He was right, they frequently get it wrong. ...
