    Ouch - isn't that a Phenolic (plastic) piston? Supposed to be better at keeping heat away from the brake fluid compared to steel pistons but can have problems like yours. Hard to find steel pistons...

    I am a big fan of bar end mirrors. Smooths out the airflow, great rearward sight but the downside is the width. I have aluminum handlebars on all bikes so can't answer your question on vibration...
