    Re: Help, Need an Eletrician

Long story short the voltage drop is being shifted from the load (vest and gloves) to the connector due to high connector resistance. That they "intermittently show higher resistance" is telling you...

    Re: AV80R's BMW R1200RTP "Poncherello"

I pried apart the Connie's TPMS sensor's a few years ago and replaced the batteries. Not fun but it can be done. Soldering skills a must.

I did notice when the first one went missing an annoying...

  7. Re: Ferrite Core/Chokes the newest thing since wet water !!

Snake oil. If you have a healthy ignition system you are good. From a Superflow dyno engineer I chatted with a long time ago - "an engine is not an electric motor, putting more electricity in does...

Re: So you like naked bikes?

Yep the Brutes were good looking bikes. I'm with Chris on the open engine less dense look and the Indian Flat Tracker. These new ones above be they MV or Duc are butt ugly....

Poll: Re: Best street helmet manufacturer poll

Had 2 Arai's. Nice helmets. Changing the face shield is a huge PITA. I had one of the side pods pop off. Went looking for a new helmet but not an Arai. Specifically looked at Bell due to the...

    Re: RIP ZZR1400

The ZX-14 \ Concours 14 is an old engine and platform at this point, going on 12 years old. May be difficult and costly to get up to Euro 4 emissions. Kawasaki clearly has decided the future is the...

    Re: Chirp on deceleration?

Mileage has next to nothing to do with brake and clutch hydraulic system condition.

Maybe the throttle tube needs cleaning. Do not lube it, just becomes grinding compound.

    Re: Chirp on deceleration?

It's not the clutch or starter\alternator chain tensioner....

Do rebuild the clutch master and slave as well as replace the old rubber line to get the feel back. How old are the brakes?
  22. Re: AV80R starts making scrap metal - Taig Micro Lathe

I had a chance several years ago to purchase a barely used (1 car project) Smithy 1220XL with about $2K in tooling for ---- $2000. :doh
  23. Re: AV80R starts making scrap metal - Taig Micro Lathe

Machining brass (and bronze) is a particular challenge, sure you want to start there?
  24. Re: AV80R starts making scrap metal - Taig Micro Lathe

Well crap! Looks like I'm going to have to get an old Bridgeport mill like I used to run and have some fun too!
